Haoran is a multidisciplinary, research-based essay writer born in Chongqing, China, and currently based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
His writings investigate contemporary cinema, queer intimacy and politics, gender and masculinity, relational affects, as well as the infrastructure of technology. His works have been published both digitally and in print in major Chinese publications, including but not limited to NOWNESS China, L'OFFICIEL China, World Screen, and DeepFocus. Haoran holds a master’s degree in Comparative Cultural Analysis from the University of Amsterdam.
Beyond writing, he works full-time in film distribution and as a freelancer in advertising & branding, loves cooking, goes to the gym, and listens to R&B on a daily basis.
